BioGuard Balance Pak 300 can be used as part of your winterising programme to raise calcium hardness in soft water areas to the correct level before winterisering your outdoor pool.

Calcium Chloride

Calcium hardness is a measure of the amount of calcium and magnesium salts found in the water. Your pool and spa water needs to have a Calcium hardness level of between 200ppm and 300ppm.  Low calcium hardness may cause pool water to be corrosive which may result in staining, etching or distorting of all types of pool surfaces.  Surfaces etched by low calcium hardness will become more abrasive and uncomfortable for bathers.  Rough surfaces also increase problems with algae and makes cleaning more difficult.

To ensure your pool water doesn't drop below this level use Bio Guard Balance Pak 300 to raise your calcium hardness.
